Announcing: LRB’s Charity Partner of the Year!

Women’s issues and women’s health are extremely important to the Liverpool Roller Birds, so it is not surprising that we have decided to partner with the charity Women’s Health Information and Support Centre (WHISC) in 2014.  There were several worthy local charities under consideration, but in the end, the services and resources provided by WHISC were too close to our hearts, and the voting by LRB members made that clear.

From their website:

WHISC is a charity dedicated to improving the health and well-being of women and their families.

Established in 1984, our experienced and professional team are able to offer an extensive range of information, support, treatments and guidance services and we guarantee a warm and friendly welcome – why not drop in or call for a chat today?

Our free and confidential services include a health information drop-in, “listening ear” sessions, support groups, counselling, relaxation classes, pregnancy testing and exercise classes – watch our video to find out more and view our weekly activity programme here.

LRB will be helping WHISC with fundraising throughout the year, including a portion of proceeds from our own events, bouts, and after parties.  Information about WHISC and the services they provide to the Liverpool community will be displayed at all our home bouts this year.  Many of the Roller Birds will be volunteering tme and effort at WHISC’s events.  Do be sure to check their website, watch their videos, and learn more about this fabulous local charity.  Thank you for your support!
